Show Me Lord

main image
SCRIPTURE

Psalm 39:4,  “Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.

OBSERVATION

Whenever I get worked up about an issue, which is often these days, I will need to remember this truth about God and my life.  My life is so fleeting and it’s handbreadth of span, compared to eternity of God.  Given that realization, everyday should be a day of gratefulness and grace for all those around me.  Even those who seem to be doing very well, they are but a breath.  So I will focus on what is eternal and constant – love of Jesus and God’s supremacy.

APPLICATION

Don’t get tripped up on small and petty things.  Be generous with my grace and compassion and ensure that others’ wellbeing is important to me whenever I am dealing with those around me, even those whom I have prior relationships.

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for letting us talk with Michael, yesterday, and keeping him safe and sound.  You are great and worthy of my utmost praise.  I love you, Father God.  Thank you also for the realization that my days on earth are a fraction of time and I will get to spend eternity with you.  Sustain Joshua until graduation and give him peace and serenity.  Continue to heal Daniel and make his heart soft to return to you, Lord Jesus.  In Jesus holy name I pray.  Amen.
